    The purpose of this checklist is to enable us to gather the information and documents required for your registration as self-employed individual in Belgium, including your social security and VAT registration.

    Please provide a brief description of your professional activities:

    In both the Brussels Capital and Walloon Region, you need to demonstrate that you have sufficient knowledge of business management by providing a certificate or – in most cases – an equivalent degree or diploma. Any diploma delivered by a college or university recognized in Belgium is sufficient to prove your knowledge. Check the government diploma database to see if your foreign degree is eligible.

    5. Turn-over

    Please provide the estimated turn-over for the first 12 months:

    If your annual turnover is below 25.000,00 EUR, you can apply for a VAT exempt status. This will relieve you from charging 21% VAT on your fees and any related formalities, such as quarterly VAT filings. Please note that you will not be able to deduct any VAT yourself from your suppliers in this case.
